I was scrolling through social media and landed on a Kebaya Story Miri reel. I was impressed that Miri City Centre has a place for Baba Nyonya Fusion cuisine. I called up my cousins to meet there for a catch up meal.

Kebaya Story Miri: Baba Nyonya Fusion Cuisine (Menu)
The outdoor section is filled with Baba Nyonya themed vintage decor, rattan lightings, dark wood and marble table tops. Ceiling fans were installed for fresh air to flow.
There is a seasoning station at the corner of the indoor section that is set up neatly on an intricate ceramic table.
The front counter was decorated with more nostalgic items from the past, as if I am peering into a Baba Nyonya home.
The colourful desserts and kueh did a good job of arousing my appetite and I can’t wait to try some.
The indoor section was already crowded with other customers and the atmosphere was lively.
For my drink, I ordered a glass of iced Celery Pineapple Juice. The drink was grassy with a hint of sweet and sour. And it was perfect for a healthy option.
I also managed to get my hands on two plates of Baba Nyonya style kueh of the day. It was less sweet and chewy.
For our mains, we ordered Stuffed Tofu with Tang Hoon soup. The stuffed tofu was the highlight for me as it was thick and each bite was satisfying.
Our next order was the classic Mirian favourite breakfast meal, the Laksa. The broth was fragrant and spicy. Plus they took note of my request for soft bee hoon and they delivered.
Coming up, we ordered the Lalapan Fried Chicken Rice. The portion was big and the sambal has the right amount of spicy kick in it. The chicken was cooked properly.
Lastly, we ordered Local Fried Rice with Fried Cauliflower. The fried cauliflower bites were crispy on the outside and sweet on the inside. The fried rice was the highlight for me as it was cooked with Daun Ubi.
