The Vintage Tea House Miri 陈年一品茶坊
The interior of the place had tones of reds, following the Chinese restaurant feel.
Upon entering, we were served tea in a clay pot and little cups.
The inside of the restaurant had small sitting areas where people were enjoying their meals.
They had posters hung on the wall and a big sculpture.
The first thing I ordered was bittergourd with egg which was an omelet with soft bittergourd in it. It wasn’t bitter as the name suggested but quiet soft and chewy with the egg.
Next, we got the buttered tea deep fried meat from their menu which was served in small pieces covered in a silky sauce. It was served hot with generous portions.
The long jing tea rice came in bowls and had a fragrant tea infused flavour
Next was the herbal wine chicken which had a nice brothy curry with pieces of chicken. They paired really well with the rice and the chicken was really tender and soft.
To pair with the savoury meal, I got longan tea. It was a mild drink with light sweetness from the longan pieces. It felt refreshing after a heavy meal.
Menu
The menu offered 2 types of rice to pair with the curries: long jing tea rice and long jing tea fried rice.
Their specials included Kong pao pork and chicken in a spicy stir fry along with vegetables.
Another special dish was fried pork belly- crispy deep fried pork chips.
Next in menu was deep fried meat options like buttered tea, honey, tea lemon, hainan, meat roll and mango flavours.
Next section of menu featured long bean with minced meat, mixed vegetable, bittergourd omelet and other meat and fish dishes.
The last section of the menu displayed options for drinks which included Chinese herb teas, flower teas and other artisanal and authentic Chinese beverages.
