Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel
As soon as I entered the lobby and reception area, I saw that the style of the hotel was quite simple and minimalist. But that just meant that the furniture and décor that was in the space stood out more. The lamps hanging from the ceiling and the emerald green rug were amazing. There were huge windows to let in loads of sunshine.
A shop in the corner had lighted shelves and was selling a number of colorful items. I didn’t have time to check it out just then and decided I would do that later.
Steps on one side led off to the rest of the hotel.
The hotel had used potted plants to add a touch of color to the space. I really liked how simple but effective that was.
There was an elevator that took guests up to all the public spaces. But there was a different guest elevator to get to the rooms. This made sure that guests who were just visiting for the day would not be able to access the rooms. I thought it was a very good idea and convenient for everybody.
Long carpeted hallways led to the rooms. There was a blue and white theme in the corridor.
The room, just like the lobby and reception area, had a very sleek and minimalist vibe. It did look very much like a hotel room. I had been to more elaborate looking hotel rooms. But it was quite spacious and luxurious looking nevertheless.
Small ceiling lights made the room look quite bright. The wooden floors gave the space a rich polish and I could see some paintings hung on the wall.
Curtains had been drawn across the wall of windows for more privacy. I was sure that if I opened the curtains, the whole room would be flooded in sunlight. A comfortable armchair had been placed at one corner of the room and a desk and revolving chair sat just opposite it.
A large TV screen dominated the wall right opposite the double bed. That would make it extremely convenient to lie in bed and watch a movie or a show at night.
Temperature controls meant that the guest could make sure the room was just as warm or as cold as they wanted it. I could adjust it to my ideal temperature. The wardrobe in the corner was spacious enough to hold some of my clothes.
The TV screen was mounted on the wall.
On the desk, I found a telephone and intercom system. There was also a folder full of relevant information about the hotel and Miri.
The room had a dressing area slightly separated from the main bedroom and it held an iron, an ironing board, a closet and racks with some empty clothes hangers. It was a nice and neat little place to get ready.
A full size mirror was hung on the wall opposite the dressing area. Guests would be able to check their appearance without any problems.
The minibar had an electric kettle, mugs and tea and coffee sachets.
A price list told me the prices of the minibar items, like Coke, Sprite, Red Bull or beer.
Even the bathroom had a huge window with blinds. It was located right above the large bathtub.
The washbasin had a big counter and a large mirror. It was the perfect area to put on make-up and get ready.
The fittings were all very clean and modern looking. I liked how spacious the bathroom was.
I took a picture of the room from one corner and was impressed at how big it looked!
I drew aside the curtains and looked outside. My room was pretty high up and the whole city was laid out in front of my eyes.
The armchair looked comfortable, with a pillow that I could place behind my back.
The bed also had more than its fair share of pillows!
The black and white sketches on the walls were fascinating.
The room had a locker where I could keep my valuables.
And amenities like laundry bags and bedroom slippers had been provided.
