Breakfast Buffet at Pullman Waterfront Hotel Miri
I headed there in the morning to check out all the breakfast options.
It was a large room with big and small tables. It was already quite full so I hurried to get a table.
There was even a kid’s area with a small table, chairs, plates and glasses.
I headed towards the yogurt section first. There were different flavors of yogurt, along with assorted compotes.
The cereal corner had a rotating plate and glass jars full of different sorts of cereals.
The dry fruits section was also very varied.
But the Pullman hadn’t forgotten to provide fresh fruits as well. Oranges, dragonfruit and watermelon were just some of the options.
The salad bar had a variety of different dressings, along with fresh vegetables.
They also had cheese and cold cuts.
One of the sections I was most excited for was the noodles section. There were so many different kinds of noodles.
Guests could choose whatever they wanted and the chefs would prepare it according to their specifications.
Vegetables like mushrooms and broccoli could also be added.
Then I went to the hot food section. There was a huge steaming basket full of some root vegetables, like sweet potato or pumpkin.
The steamed dimsum looked especially good.
Guests could serve themselves a bowl of fresh, plain porridge.
Toppings like black beans or salted fish would taste amazing with the porridge.
Everything was served in small, colorful serving bowls. The food was presented in a really attractive manner.
I liked that the hotel served a lot of local dishes as well for tourists.
Paper bags of Nasi Lemak had been kept in the refrigerator.
The Indian section had samosas.
The sambal sotong looked spicy and tasty.
There were plenty of meat and chicken options.
But for the vegetarians and vegans, there were meat-free options as well. There were so many dishes that nobody could eat it all. They would need to prioritize what they wanted.
I liked the look of the crispy noodles with vegetables.
And the fried rice was well seasoned and flavorful. I couldn’t wait to taste some. I could see shrimp in the fried rice.
The meat had been cooked perfectly. It was almost falling off the bone and the gravy was rich and savory.
I didn’t even know the names of all the dishes! I was just excited to try new things.
The hash browns had been fried crispy golden brown.
And the assorted vegetables were very light.
The grilled tomatoes looked just a little bit underdone.
I could tell that all the curries and gravies had been freshly made.
The salami had been cut into thin slices and kept hot.
Guests could pour themselves a cup of tea or coffee. Malaysia’s iconic milk tea and coffee was available.
But so was black tea and coffee.
I also saw chilled bottles of water.
The guava juice was almost over.
The hotel provided pancakes, waffles and French toast!
The bakery section held baskets of tiny muffins.
The doughnuts looked good too.
And there were two flavors of tea cake.
The bakery section was really inviting, with fresh croissants and Danishes.
White bread could be eaten plain or toasted.
And condiments like butter and honey had been laid out.
I decided to toast a slice in the toaster.
The sausages had been fried to perfection.
They also had baked beans.
A coffee machine could make your coffee to order.
And guests could order an omelet or any other preparation of egg.
