Last week, I stayed at the City Rise Hotel in Miri. The time there was quiet relaxing with the Hotel offering welcoming rooms and amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.
The stay also included a breakfast buffet and I decided to explore that.

Breakfast Buffet at City Rise Hotel Miri
To start, they offered cornflakes and chocoflakes in neatly organized jars to have with milk, honey or sugar.
The next section was boiled eggs, ready to be pealed and paired with a nice coffee or other toppings. Breakfast staples just as you enter.
For drinks, they had various hot and iced beverages in dispensers, easy to grab along with your food. They had hot tea next to an iced lemonade.
Next there two containers of iced drinks which looked like some type of fruit juice based drinks.
They had cups for coffee, milk and hot teas and a station for your sugar preference.
They also offered ice cream.
There was a pair of steam cookers with steamed baos and sago jagung- perfect for a light breakfast.
Other breakfast staples included freshly toasted bread with spread options like soft butter and strawberry and mango jam.
I was impressed by their fruit and vegetable counter. Everything looked fresh and it seemed like a make your own salad station.
They had lettuce, baby tomatoes and cabbage neatly next to some crispy quinoa and dressing.
They had so many options to build your own little breakfast plate; be it sweet, spicy or savoury; on salads or toasts- something for everyone.
For more filling options they offered rice and vermicelli noodles to pair with curries and toppings.
One of the curries was the lamb curry a rich spicy base and tender meat.
Next was a simple vegetable stew to have as a side or pair with a rice bowl.
Next I noticed fish curry which was savoury and nicely cooked and soft.
They also had beans for a good vegetarian option.
They also had coconut rice with various toppings for a nasi lemak meal.
They also had potato wedges which were crispy and soft and paired well with a savoury breakfast plate.
Along with that they also had a American staple- steamed sausages. They were hot and great for breakfast.
The Nasi Lemak station was very customizable with coconut rice, boiled and sliced eggs, cucumber, pickled veggies and sauces to create your perfect bowl.
I decided to get the lamb curry, vermicelli noodles, steamed veggies, fish curry and sausage as my savoury plate and for drink I decided to have some black coffee and milk with it.
They also offered a lunch menu from 2 to 5PM including mini snack plates with fried snacks, sandwiches, waffles, drumsticks and more.
They also had a more fancy menu with both local and Western dishes including teriyaki, smoked duck pasta, rib eye steak, mee jawa Ayam, belacan meehoon soup.
The breakfast sitting was crowded but still peaceful, people enjoyed their meal and the servers were really polite too.
